The Heart of God... Missions
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:14-15.
Paul proclaimed to the Roman's, "I have fully preached the gospel of Christ" Romans 15:19. Every child of God has this responsibility, or in Paul's words, we owe a "debt" to proclaim the gospel to every man. (Romans 1:14)
Jesus said, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..." Matthew 28:18-20. The Lord gave the command to go and teach, then He gave the boundries. "...ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" Acts 1:8.
Our calling is to proclaim Christ, and the world is to be our pulpit. "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me" John 12:32.
Earthquakes and powerful storms have dominated the news. Wicked men spread their preverse propaganda destroying multitudes of lives. The earth and the skies are filled with the signs of our time. We are without question in the last days.
Peter asked the question, "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God..." 2 Peter 3:11-12
As we see the day of God approching, what manner of persons ought we to be? Or a better question, what is faith if it is not action? Our faith is a living faith, and we are to propagate that life to every man.
"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:15-16
Darkness is fast approaching and we must work while it is still light or multitudes will be lost forever. This is the heart of God, for His children to work in the harvest.
"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." Psalms 126:5-6
If you are a born again child of God, it is a sin to be idle, you must be about the Master's work. Jesus tells of the the unprofitable servant who would not work, Jesus said, "...cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness..." Matthew 25:30.
This parable reveals just how serious God is about missions. He has given each of us one, two, five talents to use for His glory. What will you do with yours, what will be your excuse when He requires it of you?
