The Fire and the Altar
The fire represents God's presence
Leviticus 6:13 — The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
I Thessalonians 5:19 — Quench not the Spirit.
Genesis 15:17 — And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

Exodus 3:1 — Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
Exodus 3:2 — And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Fire represents God's purification
Revelation 1:14 — His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Revelation 2:18 — And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
Revelation 19:12 — His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Revelation 18:8 — Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Hebrews 12:29 — For our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 10:27 — But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Matthew 3:11 — I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Ezekiel 22:18 — Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
Ezekiel 22:19 — Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
Ezekiel 22:20 — As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
Ezekiel 22:21 — Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
Ezekiel 22:22 — As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
Fire represents God's power
Act 2:1 — And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Act 2:2 — And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3 — And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4 — And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Jeremiah 5:14 — Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
Jeremiah 20:7 — O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
Jeremiah 20:8 — For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
Jeremiah 20:9 — Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
Psalm 104:4 — Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
I Kings 18:24 — And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
I Kings 18:36 — And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
I Kings 18:37 — Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
I Kings 18:38 — Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
I Kings 18:39 — And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.
