English Dictionary
To bestow approval upon, to commend, applaud, glorify, laud or worship.

Strong's Concordence
#1868 epainos (ep'-ahee-nos), #136 ainos (ah'-ee-nos); laudation; concretely, a commendable thing) used in the sense of praise (of God)


Reasons to Praise the Lord

1.   The Holy One
"Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come."   Revelation 4:8

2.   The Almighty God
"O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?"   Psalms 89:8

3.   A Forgiving God
"...thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not"   Nehemiah 9:17

4.   A Personal God
